Kingsman 3: Director Matthew Vaughn Already Has “Plans” For The Sequel

While promoting Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Director Matthew Vaughn kept referring to his plans for Kingsman as a trilogy. Yet, months after The Golden Circle‘s release, we still haven’t heard any intel that Kingsman 3 has even been talked about internally, until now…

First, let us review what Vaughn said back in September, while promoting Golden Circle:

“I think there’s a story in my head which will be finished by the end of the next one. And then after that then, of course, there could be Statesman movies, there could be spinoff character films. The universe could continue with new agents. Or, you know, Colin (Firth) could become Arthur (…) or new characters could come in. Or new kids get trained. There’s so many options, but I also think it’s better not to be too greedy.”

Before we get too greedy then, at least we now know the story in Vaughn’s head will likely become a reality in the yet to be titled Kingsman 3.

The news that Vaughn’s attention is still focused on finishing his trilogy was revealed to CBR, by Visual Effects Supervisor Angus Bickerton at a Blu-ray event for Kingsman: The Golden Circle:

“We’ve had the briefest of conversations with Matthew [Vaughn] about it…he’s got plans.”

The briefest of conversations can turn into films at quite a fast pace these days, and with Vaughn’s continued interest and the money both Kingsman films have made Fox, I don’t see how we won’t be getting Kingsman 3 in the not-so-distant future.

But, let’s hold off on Statesman spinoffs for the time being, shall we?
