Legends Of Tomorrow: This Character Will No Longer Be A Series Regular

While I personally may not be a huge fan of the overall direction of the Legends of Tomorrow television series on The CW, one thing I do respect is the frequency with which they replace their main cast.

When the show first started out, I thought the number of characters were simply too many. Then, as the first season went on, it became clear to me that this was a show that wasn’t afraid to kill off and switch out the members of the Waverider crew. All of a sudden, the stories had actual impact.

Viewers of the recent “Crisis on Earth-X” crossover know that it left the wonderful Martin Stein deceased. Since he made up one-half off the superhero Firestorm, it seemed only a matter of time before the powerless Jax would get the boot as well.

Now, EW is confirming that actor Franz Drameh (who plays Jax) will no longer be a series regular in the 2018 leg of the season.

This will undoubtedly be a bit disappointing for fans of the series — especially those who have grown to like him over the past two-and-a-half seasons. However, given his inability to contribute much of anything at this point, he is a presence that would only hinder the rest of the crew, when all said and done (then again, not everyone needs powers).

Of course, in true CW fashion, the door is always open for him to return, and we’re sure they’ll take advantage of it at some point down the road.
