Possible SPOILERS for Stranger Things 2 ahead!

Stranger Things 2 knocked it out of the park. The series’ biggest strength is not the ’80s nostalgia or the nightmarish plot, but rather, the amazing ensemble of characters; both how they are written and how they are brought to life by the series’ outstanding actors.

Stranger Things 2‘s hardest hitters this season turned out to be Steve Harrington (Joe Keery), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Will (Noah Schnapp), and of course, Bob ‘Easy-Peasy’ Newby (Sean Astin). And yet, even all these characters who had a stand-out season are still just runners up to the true MVP of Stranger Things 2, Lucas’ sister, Erica (Priah Ferguson).

Yahoo Entertainment sat down with the co-creators of Stranger Things, Matt and Ross Duffer, who confirmed Erica will return for Stranger Things 3. Explained Matt Duffer:

“I love Erica. [Ferguson] was just a local hire we made in Atlanta. Erica wasn’t even supposed to be in [Season 2] as much as she was. We fell in love with this girl.”

Ross Duffer added:

“There will definitely be more Erica in Season 3. That is the fun thing about the show — you discover stuff as you’re filming. We were able to integrate more of her in, but not as much you want because the story [was] already going. ‘We got to use more Erica’ — that was one of the first things we said in the writers’ room.”

Well, I will certainly be happy to see Erica, and the rest of Hawkins’ band of misfits, when they return in Stranger Things 3, hopefully next year!

All the kids in this season were fantastic! She was hilarious to watch, she was every annoying sibling we’ve all had rolled into one. Such a great little actor!

I’m happy for the real girl.

    But, the character is abysmal.

I have a simple rule when observing children acting badly in a story. If you immediately changed them to adults, and they acted the same way, how would you react to their behavior?

If badly, the character acting boorish or causing strife and/or possible physical harm to others (such as turning off a walkie) then they are unwanted antagonists.
