In Star Wars: The Last Jedi we are likely to learn a great deal more about Jedi Master Luke Skywalker. While we didn’t even get to hear him speak in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we should get our fill of Luke this time around.

Many of the early reactions to the film are overwhelmingly positive (We saw the film, and our review will be up tomorrow at 12 p.m. ET), and that of course bodes well, but as far as how Luke Skywalker himself feels about the upcoming film, it could be quite some time before his feelings are revealed. Mark Hamill, the actor who plays the Jedi Master recently spoke with Rolling Stone and said not to expect his opinion on the film anytime soon:

The movie is finished, it belongs to the public. So if people are expecting me to come out and weigh in with what I think about it, they’re going to be disappointed, because it takes me a long time. I’m just about ready to talk about Empire Strikes Back! [laughs] And then I’ll get on to Return of the Jedi. Because it takes me a long time.”

Hamill’s silence makes me uncomfortable, but I can’t see this film being bad, so that leads me to believe he may not be fully ok with where the film takes Luke.

Many of us have heard or read things about how Hamill wasn’t on board with the direction the film was taking Luke Skywalker, this fact both makes me excited and nervous. Disney is continuing the story of one of the most iconic characters in the history of film, I just hope they don’t do something they can’t undo.

From what has been written of the plot and spoilers from a ‘leaker’ on reddit, I really hope it is not true whats he has told us, I know we are not to believe what people write on reddit…but this was the same guy who gave us the whole plot of Justice League with extensive dialouge..3 weeks before it hit cinemas…..

I’m not even gonna read it, man.

I have a bad feeling about this.

I do have an issue about how they are seemingly treating Star Wars like Dragon Ball Z. Every new character has this “unprecedented” power level. We met Luke whose potential power made the Emperor fearful, then we learn that Anakin was the chosen one………..now we have Rey who seems even more powerful……..

It just seems like poor writing. I understand there will always be a bigger fish, but the grouping together of these seemingly once in a lifetime powerful people so close together seems stupid.

There isn’t anything about Rey that makes me think she’s on Luke or Anakins level. But I guess the floating rocks thing is a bit dragonballish.

Stop trying. This doesn’t bode well.

Do, or do not. There is no try.

Admittedly I’m copying Noahwayne but he sums it up: “I have a bad feeling about this.”

Oh my… Luke deserved better after the shit he has been through. Raised like an orphan, his mom killed by his dad, his dad is No. 2 of the bad guys of the universe (No. 1 being good ol’ Palpatine), the Jedi tell him to go and kill his dad (because Obi and Yoda knew how great this works out after they tried the same in episode 3 facing Anakin and Palpatine – they never learn), but he does his own thing and just refuses to fight and embraces his evil dad. And guess what? What no jedi before could achieve, what no clone army could do, Luke’s love and trust did. He brought back Anakin and by this ended Palpatine and the empire. And after that, I wanted him to live a good life. Luke deserved it. But nooooo, the Mousepire had to make him come back as a broken and partially mad hermit. I hope Rian Johnson can save the place where JJA and Kasdan put Luke, but I expect Luke to go down the drain – and I just HATE this thought. I will go and see for myself on friday.
