Mark Hamill's Eyes Are Brightened With This Authentic Lightsaber

– by Drew Carlton

I have a treat for you today! I must start this with the fact that I am fascinated with "Bearded Mark Hamill". As he has gotten older, he has become much more somber, his "Joker" voice has deepened, and he is a humble guy just glad to be where he is today. I think he likes the fact he can shoot more Star Wars films, and even moreso loves just how much the Star Wars fans damn near worship him. I am one of said fans, and I was so happy to see this new clip from Comic-Con HQ on an upcoming episode of Mark Hamill's Pop Culture Quest. You must check this out, and see his expression when he unveils his "gift" and realizes just what it is.

Greatness! Love it love it!

The interviewer did inject a nice little tidbit here, this was the same prop used by Sir Alec Guiness (Obi-Wan Kenobi) in Star Wars: A New Hope. Not all of us knew that, and it is cool to get little details like this.

Hamill has had a rough go as of late, with his negative feeling towards our future president and the tragic loss of his dear friend Carrie Fisher. You can almost see the sadness in his eyes, and this little treat provided to him seemed to brighten his day, which in turn brightened mine, and I so hope will brighten yours as well.

We will see Hamill in Rian Johnson's Star Wars: Episode VIII, of which the title has been secretly guarded, where he may ride around on Rey's (Daisey Ridley) back, likely in a backpack, in an attempt to train her in the Jedi ways. No word at this time indicates this fantasy scenario will actually occur but one can hope. Either way, we have about a year to wait to find out just where the Episode VIII plot will take us, and as soon as the title is released LRM will be here to cover it.

Was this scene as cool to you as it was to me? Let us know!
