MARVEL’S IRON FIST: New Photos Show Some Familiar Faces, New Banner Hits

I know, I know. We’re all kinds of excited for the upcoming crossover series event, The Defenders. Ever since Daredevil strapped on his dark red outfit in the closing minutes of that first season, us fans have salivated over the prospect of seeing the super cross paths with other similarly-endowed anti-heroes. Jessica Jones and Luke Cage only amplified that desire, and while we’d love nothing more than to see these three team up, we can’t forget that we’re still missing one key Defender here: Iron Fist.

Among the four, Iron Fist is likely the most obscure property of the three, and the one most likely to break the Marvel/Netflix mold of dark, grounded, and serious. Marvel and Netflix seem to be well aware of this potentialmisconception, and are seemingly doing their best to address this with the series of images they’ve just released.

The batch of photos we see here show the series lead Danny Rand standing behind a lectern, sitting at a conference table, and kicking ass in what looks like a martial arts facility of sorts. Additionally, these photos contain some familiar faces in Carrie-Anne Moss, who wreaked all sorts of havoc in Jessica Jones, as well as the fan favorite Claire Temple, who has been the mainstay among all these Netflix Marvel shows thus far. While I was worried about this show standing out from the other three in terms of tone, I’d say these images go a long way to help ease concerns.

Check them out below:

To me, these images feel very much in line with the Marvel Netflix world, and even carry the DNA of Arrow (Season 1, of course).

In addition to these photos, Marvel also released a spanking new banner for the show, and it’s pretty cool.

The synopsis for Iron Fist is as follows:

“Danny Rand returns to New York City after being missing for years, trying to reconnect with his past and his family legacy. He fights against the criminal element corrupting his world around him with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.”

What do you think of these new images? Do you think Iron Fist will be able to stand alongside the other three shows, or are you just ready to get to The Defenders already? Let us know your thoughts down below!

Iron Fist hits Netflix on March 17, 2017!
