'Mission: Impossible 5' Gets New Writer

– by L-R

After Ghotocol - Mission: Impossible 4 Ghost Protocol - made enough money to ensure the franchise's viability, Paramount, Skydance and Tom Cruise set to making a sequel. First Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3) wrote a script, then Christopher McQuarrie (director, Jack Reacher) came on board to direct. Now the Pearce script it out, McQuarrie is still in and a writer named Will Staples is going to take a crack at Ethan Hunt's fifth adventure.

Staples has previously done most of his work in video games writing on Need for Speed: Rivals and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 before getting a few film projects in development. Now, because of colon placement in the Mission: Impossible series, he gets to describe the Impossible and Tom Cruise will star in it.

Pretty neat.
