Much has been said about Jon Bernthal’s Punisher for the upcoming season of DAREDEVIL. As of right now, however, there really hasn’t been a lot about Elektra, who Matt Murdock has a very fiery relationship with in the comics. We know that the character will be in the season, that she’s being played by Élodie Yung, and we’ve even seen a brief tease of her in the last trailer. Apart from that, however, all the focus seems to have been squarely on the Daredevil/Punisher conflict.

We may be seeing the end of that pattern with the release of this short 15-second clip, wherein, we see Elektra kicking some ass on a rooftop, wielding her trademark sais.

Not only is this the first time that we’ve seen Elektra in action, but this is the first time we’ve seen her vigilante outfit. Like Daredevil for most of last season, it doesn’t look like Elektra has donned her trademark red getup just yet (and who knows if she’ll don it ever). Instead she wears a tank top, a pair of flexible pants, and throws a scarf over her face. It’s very much in the same vein of what we saw from Matt’s black outfit in the first season, and is very fitting in the world that this series has established.

Tomorrow, we will be getting the trailer for “part two” of the season, and I believe this little clip is setting us up for a trailer that will be distinctly Elektra-focused.
