New ‘KILLING JOKE’ Featurette Trumpets Mark Hamill’s Return as the Joker

While BATMAN v SUPERMAN and SUICIDE SQUAD may be getting all the attention, hardcore BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES fans are eagerly awaiting the release of BATMAN: THE KILLING JOKE. This is a movie that fans are looking forward to for a few reasons. Not only is it an adaptation of one of the most beloved Joker stories, but it brings back Kevin Conroy as Batman and Mark Hamill as the Joker.

In anticipation of the animated film, there has been a featurette released. Check it out below!

BATMAN: THE KILLING JOKE will tell what is, perhaps, one of the best known, and most horrific Joker stories ever. In it, the Joker shoots Batgirl (a.k.a Barbara Gordon), paralyzing her from the waist-down. To make matters worst, it’s heavily implied that she is sexually assaulted by the Joker while in captivity.

This film adaptation grabbed headlines some time back because the filmmakers received the go-ahead to make an R-rated film, if need be. There is no confirmation of the film’s rating as of now, but it’s comforting to know that the animators weren’t restricted, and had license to tell the story in its purest form.

What’d you think of the featurette? Let us know in the comments down below!
