Michael Bay is coming back for TRANSFORMERS 5, and so is Mark Wahlberg, who joined the franchise in TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION. Who else can we expect to be involved in the fifth entry to the series that began in 2007, based on the famous toy line? According to The Wrap, the production is eyeballing a 14 year old starlet from the Nickelodeon network.
The site reports that a source close to the TRANSFORMERS 5 camp has revealed that Isabela Moner is being pursued by Paramount for a role in the film. The prevailing theory is that she’d play a character in the script named, appropriately, Izabella. Izabella is a street-smart orphan who knows her way around, and happens to have one friend in the world: A small transformer she met somewhere along the way. Somewhere along the way, she’ll cross paths with Wahlberg’s Cade Yeager.
Moner’s other credits include Nickelodeon’s 100 THINGS TO DO BEFORE HIGH SCHOOL, DORA AND FRIENDS: INTO THE CITY, and she may soon appear in the network’s big screen adaptation of LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE.
It doesn’t like a deal is done, and Paramount didn’t respond to The Wrap’s request for a comment, but she’s apparently at the top of their wish list.
TRANSFORMERS 5 is slated to come out on June 23, 2017- something that prompted DC to move WONDER WOMAN up a few weeks.
