The recently-released Pokémon Go mobile game certainly did a lot to reinvigorate the Pokémon franchise. Yes, the series never really went anywhere. Over the past fifteen-plus years, the video games have continued to be well-received staples of the franchise, but it never maintained that huge mainstream market penetration it had back in the late-1990s.
Pokémon Go seemed to change that in a big way. The series was back in the mainstream public eye, and now The Pokémon Company seems ready to pounce on that success.
A new trailer has been released for Pokémon Generations, a webseries that’s set to start streaming on YouTube on September 16. Each week, there will be an upload, all the way through December 23, right before Christmas.
Check out the trailer below!
The episodes will be released in 3-5 minute episodes, and they will explore each franchise within the video game series. The official description of the show is as follows:
"The new animated series Pokémon Generations revisits each generation of the Pokémon video game series to shed new light on some timeless moments. From the earliest days in the Kanto region to the splendor of the Kalos region, go behind the scenes and witness Pokémon history with new eyes! These bite-sized adventures, about 3 to 5 minutes long, will be released every week through December 23, 2016."
In addition to the trailer, The Pokémon Company has also released a poster and a series of concept art images.
