Rob Zombie Making A Devil’s Rejects Follow-Up?

Well here’s a little bit of horror news that came out of left field. According to Bloody Disgusting, Rob Zombie is directing a follow-up to their 2005 film, The Devil’s Rejects.

For those who don’t know, The Devil’s Rejects itself was actually a sequel to the 2003 movie House of 1,000 Corpses. While House of 1,000 Corpses was a fairly straightforward hill people type flick, The Devil’s Rejects was unique in that it was almost wholly told from the perspective of the bad guys.

This plan to bring back the Firefly family is a bit odd, not only because it’s been around 12 years, but also because when we last saw them, they drove straight into a police blockade and were all shot to hell in what’s probably the second best scene set to “Freebird” (the first being from Kingsman: The Secret Service).

But of course, death has never stopped a horror franchise from continuing on, and while we did see the family get shot up, the reality is, we didn’t necessarily see them die. The outlet goes on to speculate that this could actually be either a prequel or spinoff, but at this point, it’s too early to tell.
