Ron Howard Tweets Out A New Image From The Han Solo Movie

It appears as if one of most famous events in the Star Wars universe, Han solo braving the Kessel Run, may be featured in the Han Solo movie. Ron Howard, director of the still untitled Anthology movie, tweeted out an image with the caption, “Spicey?” To Star Wars fans, this can only mean one thing, Kessel Run. From the days of A New Hope we have all heard of Han Solo completing the famed run in under 12 parsecs. For those who don’t know exactly what the Kessel Run is, it’s a route used by smugglers and others involved in the galaxy’s underworld to transport spice from the mines of Kessel. You can see the image below.

Of course, it’s possible that the movie may only feature the spice mines, and not the run. That would be disappointing to say the least, but I don’t believe that to be the case as I don’t think Ron Howard would tease Star Wars fans like that. He knows the kinds of ideas the post will put in the minds of fans. The Han Solo movie is going to do a lot to pull back the curtain on some of Han Solo’s mystique, and the Kessel Run is one of the bigger parts of the character’s history, and showing it to us is a good bit of fan service.

As with all the Star Wars films so far, Disney and Lucasfilm haven’t been very good about giving out juicy plot details, and the same goes for the Han Solo film. I guess we should have learned by now to not expect to know a lot about a Star Wars film eight months out from release, as Star Wars: The Last Jedi is only a few months away and we barely know anything about the film. Veteran director Ron Howard was brought on to the after nearly four months of shooting to replace original directors, Chris Miller and Phil Lord.
