RUMOR: ‘SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING’ Costume Changes and Villains Revealed?

While many of us have all likely experience a pretty heavy dose of Spider-Man fatigue, the character’s recent appearance in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR did much to get this writer excited about his upcoming standalone film, SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING.

So far we know that Tom Holland will be reprising the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man along with Marisa Tomei as Aunt May. In addition, they will be joined by Zendaya, Tony Revolori, and of course, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark.

But what else can we expect from the Jon Watt’s-directed flick? Joblo has the scoop that potentially reveals Spidey’s big costume change, as well as villains involved.

If you don’t wish to be spoiled, now is the time to stop reading.

SPOILER ALERT!

……

….

..

.

If you’ll recall, not too long ago, Michael Keaton was in talks to play a role in the film. While it was never confirmed, the buzz was that he was up to play the role of Adrian Toomes (a.k.a. the Vulture). Joblo confirms that not only is the Vulture in the film, but that he is the big bad of the picture. That being said, he won’t be alone. At his side will be Phineas Mason (a.k.a. the Tinkerer), and the Tinkerer’s role in the film will be assisting Toomes in reverse-engineering the leftover Chitauri technology from the first AVENGERS.

The Tinkerer will assist in reverse-engineering Chitauri tech.

The Tinkerer will assist in reverse-engineering Chitauri tech.

That’s right, this film will have strong bonds to previous MCU films. As the first standalone Spider-Man flick, it’s likely very important that Marvel make these connections very directly so as to differentiate it from every other Spider-Man film to date.

This wasn’t all Joblo had to offer. Their next big scoop was on the topic of costume. We know that Stark will be featured in HOMECOMING, and we also know that he was the one who creative Spidey’s new outfit in CIVIL WAR, but that won’t be the end of the modifications. According to the outlet, the next big addition to the suit will be…wait for it….the Web Wings. This development has me especially excited, as it’s a feature that’s never been shown on the big screen before, despite having been around in his earliest iteration.

What do you make of these two scoops from Joblo? Do you buy them? If so, what do you think fo them? Let us know all your thoughts down below!

SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING hits U.S. theaters on July 7, 2017.
