Sebastian Stan on When We Could See The Winter Soldier Next

One of the best things about the Marvel Cinematic Universe is that you never know when one of the characters can pop up. Seeing Chris Evans pop up randomly in THOR: THE DARK WORLD was perhaps one of the most rewarding parts of that film, and similarly, the Falcon scene in ANT-MAN helped to give that film the credibility within the universe fans hoped for. Given the ongoing plot line in all the Marvel movies, it’s a lot of fun to speculate who will show up in one film and what his or her function will be in the story. Of course, actors aren’t above this type of speculation either.

During a panel at Wizard World in Philadelphia, actor Sebastian Stan (who plays the Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes in the Marvel films) gave the audience some strong hints as to where he thinks the character should pop up next.

“I don’t know, man. I mean, there’s obviously a very clear answer but I’m not maybe say it, now. Where did he end up at the end of the movie? That’s the movie he should be in.

[…]

I feel like that would be the natural… But I don’t know.”

If you’ll recall, when we last saw the Winter Soldier, he was crawling back into a cryo chamber in Wakanda, under the safe guard of T’Challa, a.k.a. the Black Panther. Logically speaking, having Ryan Coogler’s BLACK PANTHER film revolve around T’Challa protecting the Winter Soldier from government agents would be an interesting one, and would definitely create for another intriguing political thriller in the same vein of the CAPTAIN AMERICA films, but we aren’t quite sure yet what type of film they’ll be going for with BLACK PANTHER.  It’s also important to note that Sebastian Stan likely has no idea where the character will actually pop up next. When it comes to the films like this, the actors are usually the last ones to know which movies they’ll be acting in, so we can’t by any means take his statement to the bank.

What do you think? Should Bucky Barnes show up in BLACK PANTHER, and if so, should it be in a cameo role or a pivotal one? Let us know what you think down below!

BLACK PANTHER hits theaters on July 6, 2018.
