While there are plenty of fans out there who appreciated BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE for what it is (like me), there was no denying that the film had a choppy edit. There was very little flow in-between scenes, and a lot of information that should’ve been made more clear was left for the audience to interpret. Character motivations felt off, and on the whole, it felt like a bit of an incomplete story. This especially bothered a lot of fans since it was announced prior to the film’s release that an extended, R-rated cut would be on the way after the film’s standard theatrical run. They felt cheated of a more cohesive story.

Luckily, the time to see that movie is almost here. It’s months later, and we are less than a week from the digital release of the ULTIMATE EDITION. The only real downside to the digital release, however, is that it won’t be the same theater experience many fans love for their comic book films. But don’t worry yet, you may still have a chance to have that experience. For those hoping to get a theater experience with the cut, which boasts runtime extension of 30 minutes, you’ll have only one night to do so.

On June 27, the night before the official digital release, you’ll get a chance to see the ULTIMATE EDITION for yourself in select cities. On the list of cities for the film are:

• Columbus
• Houston
• Burbank
• Hollywood
• New York
• Philadelphia
• Phoenix
• San Francisco
• Washington

Hopefully with this cut of the film, fans will walk away a bit more content. While some are doubtful the thirty extra minutes could make a huge difference, that’s a large chunk of screen time, and given the right scenes, they could make all the difference. After all, Zack Snyder’s own WATCHMEN was improved greatly with a director’s cut. Let’s just hope the same is true with this movie, and that it’ll help to increase hype for the upcoming SUICIDE SQUAD, the next film in the DCEU, due this August.
