One of the concerns some fans have had about BATMAN V SUPERMAN in the two long years leading to its premiere, is that there’s too much going on in the film. Between Batman, Superman, The Flash, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, tying up loose ends from MAN OF STEEL, planting seeds for JUSTICE LEAGUE, and presenting and resolving a conflict between the titular titans, folks are worried that Zack Snyder and company have bitten off more than they can chew.

Well, according to Snyder, there were almost two more ingredients stirred into the pot:

The Joker.

And The Riddler.

Here’s what Snyder told Collider about the process that almost found two of The Dark Knight’s greatest rogues in BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE:

The Joker and The Riddler both came close to being in this movie. We talked about the possibility of putting them in. [Screenwriter] Chris Terrio and I talked about it a lot and felt that their mythological presence is felt in the movie and that’s cool, but I didn’t want to get my eye too far off the ball because I needed to spend the time, frankly, with Batman and Superman to understand the conflict.

Would you have liked seeing The Joker in BATMAN V SUPERMAN? Are you excited to find out what their mythological presence feels like when DAWN OF JUSTICE arrives in theaters this Friday? Sound off!
