Solo Actress Emilia Clarke Says Game Of Thrones Ending Will Be Divisive

Emilia Clarke, probably best known for playing Deanerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones, is currently out doing the promotion campaign for her new role in Solo: A Star Wars Story. However, it’s hardly surprising that even whilst promoting something as big as Star Wars, that the Mother of Dragons is being asked about the huge TV show.

Game of Thrones Season 8 is still under production and not expected to hit our TV screen until sometime in 2019, when exactly, we just don’t know. Even with a year hiatus the world is waiting for the final season of probably the world’s biggest TV show ever.

During a new interview with the Herald Sun, Clarke suggested that the finale is going to be divisive for fans.

“People will scream and people will say, ‘that’s exactly what I wanted’. And some people will go, ‘Huh?’ – My mum, probably.”

The thing is, if someone goes into Game of Thrones expecting a happy ending, then like show character Ramsay Bolton said, “You really haven’t been paying attention.”

We all probably have our own theories of how Game of Thrones might end, but really that’s all they are. There are effectively 2 endings we can completely rule out as per comments by book author George RR Martin,

We won’t get a sweet, happy ending where everyone lives happily ever after, Martin always said he hates these types of endings and prefers something a bit more “bittersweet”. We also will not get an ending where everyone dies in a zombie apocalypse as the white walkers win the day, (again confirmed by Martin).

How will it all end? Well, I’ll leave the speculation to you readers for now, but you can see Emilia Clarke in Solo: A Star Wars Story from May 25 in theatres.
