Spider-Man: Far From Home Expected To Break $150M Over Extended Holiday Opening

Marvel Studios already reaped in billions of dollars at the box office with two of their films earlier this year, so it’s about time Sony Pictures start raking in all that MCU money. After all, their prized character has been involved with this world for two movies. Given that Avengers: Endgame has almost made Avatar-level money by this point, you can bet your asses that Spider-Man: Far From Home will be benefitting.

According to THR, the webslinger’s latest escapade will see him making between $150 million and $160 million over the course of the six-day weekend, which starts on Tuesday, July 2 and ends on Sunday, July 7. The own studio’s tracking has the more specific haul fo $154 million predicted, but it certainly falls in line with the separate early access surveys. And, by and large, studio projections tend to be conservative.

The outlet states that some experts are predicting the film can make more than $180 million in its long weekend, which is pretty solid. It’s admittedly a bit difficult to compare to Spider-Man: Homecoming‘s opening, as it made $117 million, but only over the course of a traditional three-day weekend. That film went on to take in $880 million worldwide. So, with that in mind, does that mean the webslinger could ultimately near $1 billion at the box office? I’m sure Sony is hoping.
