SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING’s Tom Holland Calls Out Chris Hemsworth In Stunt Video

I had my doubts when actor Tom Holland was first hired to take on the role of Peter Parker and Spider-Man. It wasn’t that I doubted his ability to act, but I’d only seen him once before that, and in that role, I hadn’t seen anything remotely Spider-Man-like. But I, along with many other folks, were happily proven wrong when we saw the actor give a spot-on interpretation of the character in Captain America: Civil War. He was funny, nerdy, and all-around lovable — perfect ingredients for your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

But, in all this, we can’t ignore one of the other great reasons Holland is such a stellar Spider-Man: his acrobatic abilities. Of course, every big actor has a hardworking stuntman in his corner, but when you can get a legit-looking shot of some stunt with the actor’s face in plain view, it certainly adds to the authenticity of the scene.

Holland has shared his skills on social media before, but yesterday, he took to Instagram once more to show off some more.

Take a look at the actor in action below!

In the post, Holland also take the opportunity to call out fellow Avenger Chris Hemsworth. Admittedly, of all the Avengers I could see pulling off a similar feat, Hemsworth isn’t one of them, as he has perhaps the largest arms of anyone else, and I feel like any attempt at this would only result in him tipping over. Of course, I’m definitely wrong on that front, but regardless, it surprises me that the two appear to be in some sort of stunt competition.

Given that both Hemsworth and Holland have worked together in 2015’s In The Heart of the Sea, I can infer that the two have a friendly working relationship with one another, and I eagerly await Hemsworth’s response.

And for those of you who feel bad seeing this kid flip around like it’s no big deal, here’s a video that director Jon Watts posted of the actor just sitting as the lighting around him changes. Perhaps the completed shot will be him sitting by some building as a bunch of cars go by, but we’ll have to wait and see.
