Being a fan is fun. You get to take the kernels of news and really shape it into whatever you want it to be. For months, we’ve been speculating on one kernel of truth — that there would be a new Jean-Luc Picard Star Trek series. From there, many of us dug into the different title trademarks from CBS, which included the likes of Star Trek: Revolution, Star Trek: Destiny, and Star Trek: Reliant. But which one would apply to the Picard series? That was the question.
It turns out none of the above. Sometimes the correct answer to any question is the one that’s sitting right in front of us, and as it turns out, so was the title of the Picard series. Revealed in a tweet from the Star Trek account was the new title of the show.

For those who can’t see the tweet, it’s Star Trek: Picard. CBS All Access is making sure fans know right up front that this show is unabashedly all about Patrick Stewart’s fan-favorite character. Without a doubt, this is a way to reel in fans of The Next Generation, who may have not yet sprung for their streaming service.
But, of course, a title is one thing. An actual visual is another. Buzzfeed News writer Kate Aurthur recently attended a CBS Upfronts event, and got to show us a still of Stewart returning to the character.
