If you’re anything like me (god bless you if you are), then you’re doing everything possible to avoid spoiling all of the cool stuff in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. If so, this new TV spot will royally annoy you, because it’s jam-packed with cool stuff that you probably haven’t seen before.

Look, we both know you’re going to watch this clip, there’s no shame in it. Press the button!

Feeling better, yes? Good.

So, let’s talk about what’s within, OK? Creatures, lots of new creatures. Also, some cool space ship stuff and more Rey wielding a lightsaber while Luke just stares at his lightsaber — we are going to see Luke battling Kylo Ren, right? Right?

Actually, there’s not as much new stuff here as I expected, but the creatures are cool, even if they are obviously very CG. I’m sure the super-hardcore Star Wars fans could tell me the names of every creature in this clip, more power to you. These creatures feel new and different from anything I’ve seen in past Star Wars films. It’s clear that Director Rian Johnson is leaning into the deeper Star Wars canon to make The Last Jedi look and feel distinct and apart from The Force Awakens, if not The Empire Strikes Back, which are the frequent and inevitable comparisons.

The good news, for fans like us who strive to go into the movie blind, there’s only one-ish week remaining before the theatrical debut. Thereafter, good luck avoiding spoilers, because web sites have to sell ads and The Last Jedi is all anyone’s gonna be talking about.

Have you managed to avoid spoiling The Last Jedi? Have I totally ruined it for you? Let us know in the comments down below!

Avoiding spoilers is tough. My friends are good with not spoiling it but I enjoy Rotten Tomatoes reviews. Most people there are quite respectful of spoilers but then others just drop bomb after bomb with not the slightest warning. Must fight that impulse this time.

    • Oh, that’s the part that really gets to me. I read a “non-spoiler” article, but then some knob in the user comments that drops a major plot point, death, etc. Pure evil.
