We here at LRM Online have been understandably skeptical of the upcoming Han Solo Star Wars spinoff. That’s not to say we didn’t think it could be done, but we’ve questioned the need to keep on revisiting the well — especially when we’ve seen different versions of that well in the past. However, as skeptical as we were of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, that one still managed to impress. With that in mind, we’ve decided to go into this Han Solo spinoff with an open mind.

And what a time to do so. The film is in production, and now Lucasfilm has released a new cast photo that’s poised to get us all kinds of excited to see our favorite scoundrel set out on the Millennium Falcon once again.

Check it out below:

Looks good. My issue is that I have replaced Chris Pratt with the new Han Solo, and nothing will change that. That being said, Han at least here, looks pretty damn good. I think he could pull this off.

We also know that the gorgeous Emilia Clarke will be in this, as will the equal beauty Thandie Newton, Donald Glover will play Lando, Joonas Suotamo will play Chewbacca, and Woody Harrelson will be in this movie. Harrelson’s role is not fully known but he will likely be the main draw.

The director’s Lord and Miller had this to say about these characters:

“Watching such inspired people from all over the world, with such unique voices, come together for the sole purpose of making art, is nothing short of miraculous. We can’t think of anything funny to say, because we just feel really moved, and really lucky.”

So yeah, I must admit, I will be watching this simply for the Mother of Dragons. I named my pug after her character for god’s sake. I will be there day one.

Oh, and I have discovered a great plot synopsis for you guys here for this film:

“The plot is currently unknown”

Or maybe not.

What do our readers here think? Howexcited are your for this film? Does the young Han Solo fit the bill?

The Han Solo Star Wars spinoff is currently slated for May 25, 2018.
