STAR WARS: Could This ROGUE ONE Character Return Sooner Rather Than Later?

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was Disney’s grand experiment that really seems to be panning out. It was the first non-saga Star Wars film to hit theaters, the first one not to have a text crawl (which hardcore fans will never let us forget), and the first one to have a one-and-done story.

However, once the credits rolled in the film, some fans couldn’t help but wonder if Disney and Lucasfilm would be able to let things lie. Would they let Cassian and Jynn’s stories be done? Would they resist the temptation to utilize these characters in other spinoff films down the line? Last month, we reported on the possibility of Felicity Jones having a sequel option in her contract.

Well, as expected, she isn’t the only character to be rumored for another film. Speaking with actor Diego Luna, MTV asked if audiences could expect Cassian Andor to pop up in any other future Star Wars flicks. As expected, Luna merely shrugged at the question, like a champ.

“Who knows? You don’t know.”

He’s right. We don’t know. But none of this has stopped fans from speculating. Disney isn’t one to waste their properties or their characters. As well as Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has done so far, the House of Mouse could still milk more from the franchise by weaving some of their characters in and out of other spinoff films in a believable way.

The next standalone film on the horizon is none other than the Han Solo spinoff, and given the smuggler’s seedy origins, there seems to ample opportunity for him to have a run-in with Cassian. Unlike Jynn, Cassian’s involvement with the Rebellion may serve as fertile ground for him to have worked with a young Han Solo in the past in a believable way.

Of course, this is all speculation, but there seemed something particularly telling in Luna’s face. And with Disney, you never truly know is an actor is ever done with their role.

What do you think of all this? Do you think we can expect Cassian Andor show up in a future Star Wars film? Let us know your thoughts down below!
