It was recently revealed by actor Mark Hamill that STAR WARS EPISODE VIII was set to wrap principal photography on July 22, 2016, which is a short couple weeks away. But, of course, that leaves plenty of days left in the production, and more than enough time for the actors and director to snap some photos of the production as things wind down.
The first was posted on July 7, and celebrates day 100 of filming, which means the production was likely planned for around the neighborhood of 115 days, give or take.

The next post comes from actor Anthony Daniels, who plays C-3PO in the film, announcing the wrapping of his character.
Sad yesterday. I wrapped on Ep VIII. Thanks to ALL the team especially David & Joe, Kathy & Ram, Jamie & of course RIAN. I have loved it. XX

A similar post from John Boyega, who plays Finn.
Director Rian Johnson also posted a series of close-up images. The first looks as though it’s pulled from the Millennium Falcon, the second is questionable, and the third looks like the ceiling of a set.
And finally, the most damning photo of all, and ones STAR WARS fans will talk about for months: a face swap between Johnson and lead actress Daisy Ridley.
STAR WARS EPISODE VIII hits theaters on December 15, 2017.
