Star Wars: The Last Jedi New Promotional Image Shows Off New Character

The countdown to the second installment of LucasFilm’s new Star Wars trilogy continues. The Last Jedi will be in theaters in just a few short months. Lucasfilm, as secretive as always, has not been forthcoming with many details. While The Last Jedi has no official presence at SDCC we do have a new promotional image. A close up shot of Finn (John Boyega), Rey (Daisy Ridley), and one of the better looks at the new character Rose, who is played by Kelly Marie Tran.

In the photo, Finn can be seen wearing the jacket of Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron, who curiously is not featured in the photo. Rey adorns a smoky gray outfit and is holding Luke’s old lightsaber, positioned in a fighting stance. Kelly Marie Tran’s character, Rose, is also shown, and is thought to be a maintenance worker in the resistance.

Many questions were left unanswered when Star Wars: The Force Awakens ended, including Rey’s parentage, how and why Kylo Ren turned to the darkside and who exactly is Supreme Leader Snoke? Whether or not any or all of these questions will be addressed is anyone’s guess. Joining the cast are Benecio Del Toro as a character we only know as DJ, who seems to reside on the casino planet, Canto Bight, and Laura Dern joining as Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo, a high ranking resistance officer.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters December 15, 2017.
