You can definitely feel the clock starting to tick down to the release of the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Yes, it’s still a long ways away from its December release, but there seems to be more and more “leaks” as the release date draws nearer. The latest comes in the form of some concept art.
If you’ll recall, not too long ago, we did a piece on a drawings that the folks at Making Star Wars put together of a royal guard of Snoke’s. The drawing was based on descriptions of the design, and it was pretty interesting to see the look they came up with.
The most recent “leak,” however, comes in the form of supposedly legit promo images for some upcoming merch for Star Wars: the Last Jedi. The leak comes courtesy of the Templo Jedia Aztlan, and the images have also been confirmed by Star Wars News Net as legit, so we at least have a pretty reliable source vouching for these pieces of art.
The first one is a First Order royal guard of Snoke. The shades of red that we’re seeing are very reminiscent of Emperor Palpatine’s own guards from Return of the Jedi. However, these ones here look like they’re ready to kick ass, which Palpatine’s never did.
The second image is a variation on a standard Stormtrooper. It has some different colors thrown in there, leading us to the conclusion that he’s an officer of some sort. This guy also looks to be wielding a…hammer of some sort? Like good ol’ TR8R from The Force Awakens, this guy seems trained for close quarters combat.
The next two images look like new variations of AT-AT walkers called AT-M6. My question here is whether or not these guys are the same ones that attack that rumored mining planet. The walkers there were compared closer to gorillas, and if you look at the front legs on these guys here, I can see the comparison to a gorilla.
