Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker’s Runtime Hits Theaters — What Does It Mean?

According to the latest Barside Buzz from a good source, the title of the Rey Sequel movie is Star Wars Episode X: A New Beginning.

Okay, so it’s worth saying this upfront: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker likely does not have an official runtime yet. From what we know, the movie is still being edited, and is nearing the final stages before it hits theaters in a couple of months. That being said, in this day and age, it’s important for theater chains to get some specific details in order to properly plan for a movie’s release.

For example, they need a rough runtime so that they can properly block out their schedules. In order to do that, they need a rough runtime to work with. One that’s close enough, even if it’s not 100% correct. According to Star Wars Unity, theaters have started to receive said runtimes, and that runtime is…155 minutes, or two hours and 35 minutes.

So, what does this all mean? Again, it doesn’t mean that this is the final runtime, but it means that theaters have started gearing up for online ticket sales, and that they’re pretty much locking things down. My assumption here is that this is a harbinger of the long-awaited trailer, which will either hit later today or this time next week. Seriously, we have no f**king clue at this point.

Regardless, when it does drop, it’s likely tickets will automatically go on sale. So practice your page refreshing now.
