‘Suicide Squad’s Enchantress Kills With Her Bare Hands In The Movie

If the recent San Diego Comic-Con trailer is any indication, fans will have a lot to look forward August of next year when “Suicide Squad” hits the big screen. The flick features an ensemble cast of DC baddies, ranging from the well-known Harley Quinn all the way to the incredibly silly Captain Boomerang. No doubt with their long list of memorable villains in the DC universe, Warner Bros. is hoping to add a whole new dimension to their Cinematic Universe.

One of the newcomers to the big screen will be the supervillain Enchantress, played in “Suicide Squad” by English supermodel and actress Cara Delevingne, who also stars in the upcoming film, “Paper Towns.”

Enchantress is unique among the DC villains in that she is not just an alter ego to the character of June Moone, but literally a completely different person that takes control of her, causing unspeakable damage and mayhem. It’s often a bit of a struggle to keep Enchantress in check, so in a way she has some similar traits as Marvel’s Hulk. So how will they portray this villain in the film?

Based on what we’ve seen of Enchantress in the recent “Suicide Squad” trailer, it’s a bit difficult to tell which side of the character we’ll get to see more. Most of the stuff seems to be pre-insane, or when she snapped into her June Moone alter ego. But if her interview with TIME is any indication, when the Enchantress does take over, the results will be worth checking out.

“It’s going to be freakin’ awesome. I kill people with my bare hands,” she told the outlet. Rage is definitely not something they plan on shying away from. Delevingne went on to describe her audition process for “Suicide Squad,” calling it lengthy, intense, and infuriating. By the end of the audition, Delevingne says she was ready to beat up some people.

“I was like, ‘Honestly, if I go outside and punch people, you’ve got to come get me out of jail because I am so furious. He sparked a f-cking fury in me.”

That aspect of her may not be difficult to see. If you’ll remember, in the first picture we got of her and the rest of Task Force X, she looked straight out of â€œThe Ring.” She’s definitely not a person you’d like to run into in a dimly lit house—and the fact that she has the ability to kill with her bare hands…? Terrifying.

Are you looking forward to her portrayal of Enchantress in “Suicide Squad?” Let us know below!

“Suicide Squad” hits theaters on August 5, 2016.
