SUPERGIRL Will Finally Show Superman in Season 2

– by Joseph Medina

It's finally happening! Season one of the previously-CBS (and currently-CW) series went to drastic measures to avoid showing Superman. However, it looks like the showrunners are finally willing to show the Man of Steel properly in the series, THR reports.

Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg had the following to say:

"Greg [Berlanti], Ali [Adler] and I are beyond thrilled to welcome Clark Kent and his slightly-more-famous alter ego to the world of SUPERGIRL. Superman will be appearing in the first two episodes of the new season and we cannot wait to see who next dons the red cape!"

As of this writing, the role is currently being cast, and it's unclear who will take on the iconic role in the series, but it is perhaps the most important casting decision the network has faced. Sure, casting leads like Oliver Queen and Barry Allen were important, but this will be the first (and possibly the only) member of the Trinity that will make it to TV in this generation of shows. While it's not important in the sense that he has to carry a show, it is important in that it's a way to get mainstream audiences into the series, so whoever they bring in will have to be stellar.

Up until now, SUPERGIRL has resorted to showing only silhouettes and CG versions of Kal-El. This was obviously an attempt to ensure that the show rested squarely on the shoulders of its female lead, but that didn't keep the decision from being an annoying one. Given how frequently he showed up, you would've thought they'd move on from the cloak and dagger routine, and with this bit of news, I'm glad this faux mystery will finally meet its end.

But, of course, the next big question is who should play him. Any thoughts on that matter? Who do you want to see play Superman in the SUPERGIRL TV series? Let us know your thoughts down below!
