While not being a a huge fan of shows produced by the Syfy network, I will give this show a shot once it premieres. Setting a show long before the time of a popular comic character has worked out well for Gotham (in my opinion, I know lots of you think the show is silly). Where Gotham elected to put itself a good 20 years before the time of Batman, Krypton has taken the idea to a whole new level, and set itself long before the time of Superman, around 200 years earlier.  The show was created by David S. Goyer, who co-wrote The Dark Knight trilogy with Christopher Nolan and his brother,  Jonathan.

Brainiac first appeared in Action Comics #242 and has been a thorn in Superman’s side ever since. The character has previously been played on screen by James Masters (Buffy The Vampire Slayer). Beginning in Season 4, the character became a part of the young Superman series, Smallville. Brainiac is one of the more formidable adversaries for Superman.
