Sylvester Stallone wants to give Rocky fans on what they want.
He has a plan to reunite Rocky and Apollo on screen together for “Creed 2.”
In an interview with Variety, the veteran thespian told the magazine that one version of the story will take place in the past—which will need to bring Carl Weathers to play Apollo Creed. The character died in 1985’s “Rocky IV.”
Stallone remarked it could be like “The Godfather 2,” in which it could be an ambitious story idea. And he claimed Weathers is in pretty good shape to play the fighter.
If this storyline doesn’t pan out, another option would be a linear story with Adonis (Michael B. Jordan) taking on another challenger who is more “ferocious, big Russian.”
“You can start to meld my experiences and then you start to bring different cultures into it. And you can see what’s happening with the Russians today in America,” he told to Variety. “The complication will come with the girl’s ambition, because she’s not Adrian. She has places to go, things to see, the clock is running on her hearing.”
