Sylvester Stallone Is Trying To Convince Kurt Russell To Come Back For A Tango And Cash Sequel

If there’s anyone in Hollywood who knows how to use a franchise for all it’s worth, it’s Sylvester Stallone. The actor has properties such as Rambo (which has it’s final installment on the way), Rocky and Creed that he has revisited over the years.

Sometimes the return to familiar territory is a good thing, such is the case with 2006’s Rocky Balboa, and the recent Creed films, others times, the returns aren’t as good as most of us felt the should have been. Stallone isn’t afraid to go back to the well, and during a recent interview with Fandango he mentioned another one of his films may be getting a sequel, if he can convince his co-star to come back. That co-star woul be one Kurt Russell, and the film getting a sequel would be the late 80s buddy cop movie Tango & Cash. You can check out what Sly had to say below.

“I would do Tango & Cash in a second. I know, with Kurt [Russell], it’s not about a caper… it’s just us doing our thing. ‘I don’t know, Sly…There we were in our prime and now we’re in our unprime, I dunno.’ So I said, ‘Kurt, I’m telling you, ya gotta go in on this.’ So he said, ‘I’ll talk to you when I get back.’”

I will watch Kurt Russell in most anything, love the guy, so if he is in, I’m in. When I was a kid this film played on what seemed like an endless loop on the movie channels we had, I’ve seen it more than a handful of times. Another film I would like to see Stallone revisit is Over the Top, that film was the talk of the playground back in elemenetary school and I don’t think it would be a bad idea to modernize it.
