Taron Egerton Wants Dwayne Johnson To Join The Kingsman Franchise

Is there anything that isn’t made better by The Rock? I mean come on, the guy is like bacon. He is one of the few genre crossing entertainers that I will accept as an actor, the rapper turned actor Mos Def being one of the others on the list. It appears as one of the stars of the newly released film, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, shares the same opinion as me on Dwayne Johnson, as in a recent interview with THR, the actor made his case for The Rock joining the Kingsman franchise in the role of a villain.

“I know who the character is and it’s nothing like this actor, but I love Dwayne Johnson. I think he’s the right fit for it, but the villain role Matthew has described to me is not Dwayne Johnson.”

Actors that don’t necessarily fit a role on paper have worked out well on screen many times in the past, I defer to Heath Ledger as the go to example. From what Egerton says, it sounds like this role would take The Rock out of his comfort zone and maybe push him a little bit. Having a description of the villain would help us nail down why Johnson doesn’t fit the role, and allow us to speculate what it is Egerton still thinks Johnson would be a good fit, but, unfortunately, we don’t have that information yet.

For me, The Rock would be a welcome addition to the Kingsman movies. He has the ability to fit in almost anywhere, which is weird because he is such a big dude. Anyway, as we all know, The Rock is no stranger to action flicks and actually seems a natural fit for this franchise, so I’m confident it the transition would be seamless. The Rock joining the Fast and Furious franchise sure has been a win for me, and I have enjoyed the movies far more since his addition to the cast. Perhaps such a transition for Kingsman could be similar.
