The big screen adaptation of Stephen King’s THE DARK TOWER continues to pick up steam. The long-in-development film added sizable stars Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba a few months back, and it’s supporting cast is still getting rounded out.
The Hollywood Reporter broke the story yesterday that Fran Kranz, who played Marty in Drew Goddard’s THE CABIN IN THE WOODS, has signed on to play Pimli Prentiss. This means Kranz will be the right-hand-man to McConaughey’s Man In Black.
Kranz will join a cast that also includes Jackie Earle Haley and Abbey Lee. Aaron Paul is also rumored to be circling the project- after years of lobbying for the role of Eddie Dean.
The Nicholaj Arcel-directed film, based on the classic THE DARK TOWER series of books by StephenKing, is slated to come out on February 17, 2017.
