Possible SPOILERS ahead if you haven’t finished Stranger Things 2.

With Stranger Things 2 having been out for several weeks, and us all having watched it multiple times (right guys?), it is time to look forward to what Stranger Things 3 may have in store.

Yahoo Entertainment sat down with the show’s creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, to discuss what the brothers have in the works for Season 3 and beyond. Ross started by explaining:

“We have an end goal; we know where we want to go. We’re not quite sure how long it will take to get there, but we do have a plan. And some of it, it’s just because Season 2, we just came into it with so many ideas, and so many of them have been kicked further down the road. So we’re gonna use some of those. In [our Season 2 brainstorm], we figured out what that ending is, but it’ll take more than one year to get there.”

Ross Duffer also confirmed that there would be another time gap between seasons, similair to the 10 months between the events of Season 1 and Season 2:

“It will have to be somewhat of a time gap, because the kids are, I mean, they already look so much older. No matter what we want to do, I remember when we were originally talking about Season 2, we wanted to just start it in Christmas and just go from there, but then we realized the kids are just too old, so we had to jump forward. Even the latest trailer, we had to loop a line with [Caleb McLaughlin, who plays Lucas]. He sounds like a man now. It creeps me out. He’s going to be driving to set next year.”

I feel like we’re ready for a lengthy journey through the Upside Down, full on Mordor-style.

One does not simply walking into the Upside Down.

These two are clearly the legacy of the very best of Spielberg, and they need to be immediately placed in charge of the next big potential film franchises, whatever they may be.

I hope they don’t shift the focus too much on the other “gifted” children. We’ve already met 11 and 8, so it’s possible they’ll introduce the other 9 or more children (if they exist)…I just hope it doesn’t get to that because it will become the X-men
