The Flash is one of those DC films that has faced setback after setback. It’s faced a revolving door of directors from the get-go, and has pretty much been helmless for at least a couple of years now. As the DC Extended Universe has evolved over the years to match up with fan demand, it’s become less and less likely that star Ezra Miller would even return to play the blur.
According to THR, this film may have had a shot of adrenaline injected into it. The outlet says that IT director Andy Muschietti is in talks to direct the superhero film, and will be producing alongside his partner and sister Barbara Muschietti.

But that isn’t all. The outlet states that the studios is eyeing Christina Hodson to write the script. She’s been making big waves in the business recently, and with films like Bumblebee and Birds of Prey under her belt, she clearly has the chops to realize a superhero movie.
When last we heard, Miller was reworking the story in a last-ditch effort to stay on as Barry Allen. It sounds like that approach has been thrown out the window, but the Fantastic Beasts star is still on board to play the character, at least for now.
