The third trailer for Universal Studio’s Despicable Me 3 has been released. The animated film features the returning voice of Gru and now his twin brother Dru, Steve Carell. Also returning will be Kristen Wiig voicing Lucy Wilde and Russel Brand as Dr. Nefario. The villain Balthazar Bratt will be voiced by Trey Parker. The film is directed by Kyle Balda and Pierre Coffin.
This trailer opens with Gru’s mother explaining to him that soon after him and his brother were born, she and his father split up and each of them took one child. She goes on to make the claim that she obviously did not get first choice in the matter. The next scene as we have seen before features Gru and Dru meeting for the first time. We then see that Gru was fired for letting a villain get away. In the next scene Dru explains to Gru that he had summoned him to his place to continue their life of villainy. Although a reluctant at first, Gru ends up joining his brother back into a life as a villain behind his wife’s back. We also get a look at the minions who are in jail wearing stripes and running the place.
Here is the synopsis from Universal Pictures:
Gru (Steve Carell) and his wife Lucy (Kristen Wiig) must stop former ’80s child star Balthazar Bratt (Trey Parker) from achieving world domination.
It looks like this could be a good film for families to watch together. Usually third installments of any franchise aren’t very good, but like with any film we’ll judge that after we watch it. Hopefully they haven’t showed too many of the jokes in the trailers leaving the movie dry with humor that we have already heard. What did you think of the trailer?
