Thor: Ragnarok Clip – Thor Discusses His Intimate Relationship With His Hammer

Thor: Ragnarok is set to send Thor through a ton of trials and tribulations. Perhaps the biggest trial that awaits him is him living life without the aid of his trusty hammer, Mjolnir.

Based on the trailers we’ve seen, we know that Thor loses the hammer when the fim’s big bad, Hela, crushes it with her hand. This sets the stage for Thor’s life-changing experiences. Now, in this new clip, we get to see Thor take a moment to explain Mjolnir to Taika Waititi’s character.

The character then goes on to explain to Thor that losing the hammer for him was akin to losing a loved one, which Thor only seems to be realizing in that moment. Also of note here is that, based on his longer hair, this looks to be before Thor ends up in the gladiator ring with Hulk.

The synopsis from Thor: Ragnarok:

“In Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!”

Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3, 2017.
