Tom Hardy Considered for Villain Role in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’?

No Doctor Strange for Tom Hardy. But, how about Apocalypse?

Buried in the TheWrap’s story on “Doctor Strange” yesterday, the site remarked Hardy is out of the running for that title character due to being considered as lead villain in “X-Men: Apocalypse.”

It’s a wonder on why this story is barely being mentioned by TheWrap. Perhaps signing on to the X-Men movie may conflict with possibly signing on to David Ayer’s “Suicide Squad.” According to Deadline, Hardy is “close to signing on” for that project.

Hardy is currently filming in “The Revenant” and “Legend.” “Mad Max: Fury Road” is in post-production for release next year.

Nonetheless, it’s always fun to speculate.
