Transformers: The Last Knight Trailer #3: The Imminent Destruction Begins

Transformers: The Last Knight, the fifth film in the long-running series is just north of two months away, and it seems like the studio is really starting to roll out the marketing. At a recent fan event, they showed off around 20 minutes of footage, much to the joy of fans around the country. In addition, despite there being a trailer for the film a few weeks back, Paramount has gone so far as to release yet another trailer.

Whereas the last trailer really focused on the leading girl, Izabella, this one is more focused on the actual story at hand. The film seems like a dark, morose, evolution of the franchise thus far. It also seems epic in scope. As evidenced by the subtitle, it will have ties to King Arthur and a lot of the crazy historical events. However, it’s still not clear, based on this trailer, how it will all play out. We see scenes from the past, yes, but we don’t really understand how it plays into the plot of the film.

What we’re left with is a bunch of gorgeous imagery set to dreary music. While it’s not bad, I was hoping by this trailer, I’d have a better understanding of how the basic premise comes together.

But don’t take my word for it.

Check out the trailer below:

Below is the official synopsis for Transformers: The Last Knight:

“When all seems lost, a few brave souls can save everything we’ve ever known.

“The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).

“There comes a moment in everyone’s life when we are called upon to make a difference. In Transformers: The Last Knight, the hunted will become heroes. Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive: theirs, or ours.”
