Victor Garber leaving Legends of Tomorrow

The world of Legends of Tomorrow continues to get smaller. Deadline is reporting that the veteran thespian Victor Garber will be exiting the DC CW series during this current third season.

The reported reason for this is that Garber is returning to Broadway for a revival or Hello, Dolly! There have been rumblings about Garber’s departure for a bit, and from the sound of it, this was a premeditated leave, so there’s been plenty of time for the show to wrap up all the necessary loose ends.

For those unfamiliar, Garber played the role of Martin Stein in the show — or one-half of Firestorm. So the number of heroes in Legends of Tomorrow grows ever-smaller — though we’re sure there will be others to take his place. No word yet on what this means for Jefferson, who makes up the other half of the superhero. We’re sure it will be sad departure.

Legends of Tomorrow had its Season 3 debut last night, and while the show’s cast has grown fairly well over the past couple years, Garber’s presence will certainly be missed.
