Video Game ‘THIEF’ is Being Adapted into a Feature Film

One of the best franchise video games in the past 20 years is being adapted into the big screen.

Straight Up Films acquired the rights to THIEF, a video game series which was developed by Eidos and published by Square Enix. There had been a total of four video games with the latest published in 2014.

The series set a standard for stealth video games back in 1998 as the gamer plays Garrett, a master thief who sneaks around in the dark to accomplish missions.

Adam Mason and Simon Boyes will write the screenplay. Straight Up principals Marisa Polvino and Kate Cohen will produce the feature adaptation, along with Roy Lee, under his Vertigo Entertainment shingle, and Adrian Askarieh, under his Prime Universe production banner.
