Will Lex Don His Purple & Green Armor In ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’?

It’s interesting that two of DC’s most cherished villains are getting new big screen takes, yet most of the curiosity has centered squarely on only one of them. Lex Luthor and The Joker are the villains in question, and it’s the latter that everyone seems to be champing at the bit for glimpses of. With all of the leaked videos and images from David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, there’s plenty to check out when it comes to Jared Leto’s Clown Prince of Gotham. However, what about Lex? After all, Zack Snyder will be debuting a fresh, new iteration of the character in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Where’s all the feverish excitement surrounding Jesse Eisenberg’s portrayal of Superman’s arch-nemesis?

Well, I can’t answer that, but I can say that there’s now intel that could spark some renewed interest in Luthor- interest that seemingly withered away as soon as Snyder revealed a picture the chome-domed baddie. According to the folks over at JoBlo, they have it on good authority that Lex’s infamous green-and-purple armor is going to finally make its first cinematic appearance. Where as the previous big screen take on the character, played by Gene Hackman and Kevin Spacey and set in Richard Donner’s Superman universe, was a flamboyant con man that rarely got his hands dirty, it sounds like Snyder’s will be a man of action.

Their source says the suit will be fairly true to how we all picture it from the comics, which should come as a surprise to no one since this is Zack Snyder we’re talking about and we know he’s great at bringing comic book images to life. One of the main theories as to how Luthor constructs the suit, and the technology involved, is that he put it together using the discarded pieces of armor left by General Zod and his Kryptonian army. Makes sense. Though, I had figured that’s what Bruce Wayne used to make his armor that was spotted in the trailer. Maybe he andLex worked together in some capacity? Who knows?

As usual, take all of this with a grain of salt. It hasn’t been confirmed so, until then, it’s just a rumor.
