Wonder Woman’s Gal Gadot To Appear In Flashpoint Movie

At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Warner Bros. revealed via a logo that the upcoming standalone Flash movie will not, in fact be much of a standalone at all, but an adaptation of the Flashpoint storyline.

For those who don’t know, Flashpoint is a story where Barry Allen wakes up to find himself in an alternate universe. In this universe, some heroes (like Batman) have different identities, some are gone altogether, and those who are around have very different relationships with one another. He later goes on to find out that the reason for this universe existing has to do with him going back in time to save his mother.

This is obviously a very epic storyline for them to be adapting, and unless they want to tackle this in a very low-key fashion (like they did with last season of The Flash TV show), they would need a good number of Justice League heroes and various other actor sto pop up. Among these actors are Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Thomas Wayne), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), and of course, Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman).

But what’s the current state of Gal Gadot’s contract? Buried in a piece from Deadlineit’s revealed that Gadot is attached to star in Wonder Woman 2 and Justice League (duh), as well as the “spinoff for The Flash.” This is the film we already know to be Flashpoint.

While we were expecting Warner Bros. to utilize the talents of their actors for Flashpoint (meaning they wouldn’t restrict the effects of Barry’s actions to his own little world), this is a nice little confirmation that they’ll be pulling out the big guns with Gal Gadot, and we’re sure announcements for other Justice Leaguers will eventually come as well. In regards to Wonder Woman’s potential role in the film, it’s hard to say since we have very little idea of how this world currently stands as a unit. That being said, it would make sense for them to go the comic book route, with Wonder Woman and Aquaman being at odds with one another, but that’s just a guess.

While we still don’t have a release date for this film, I’m starting very much to get a Captain America: Civil War vibe, where yes, it’s a “Flash” movie, but it’ll very much involve the rest of our heroes in a big way.
