Vince McMahon's mantra of "Never say never" has never been more accurate than it is right now, if these new rumors are to be believed.
You may recall that legendary professional wrestler, and WWE Hall of Famer, Hulk Hogan had a TitanTron-sized fall from grace last year. There was the sex tape scandal, there was the sleeping with the wife of a dear friend of his, and then- the big whopper- audio of him making racist remarks.
That last bit was enough to make WWE cut and run from Hogan last year.
Since then, Hogan has found a bit of personal redemption. He's apologized for- and clarified the nature of- his racial remarks; He's managed to stay out of trouble and let the story blow over; And he won a WHOPPER of a lawsuit against the website Gawker.
So where does this leave The Hulkster in terms of his relationship with the WWE? According to his daughter, he's been contacted by the company about an appearance at WrestleMania 33!
TMZ caught up with Brooke and asked her what she knew about a potential return, and that's when she dropped this small bombshell: "I know that people have been calling him for WrestleMania."
This has sparked a ton of speculation. What's funny is, to me, I read that and I assume he'll do what he's done for the last few years. That means that he'll pop up and cut a promo to rev up the crowd and bring some of his Mania legacy with him to make the event feel more historic. But other people are running in a totally different direction. I'm reading all over that Hogan may actually have a match at WrestleMania 33!
That sounds like insanity to me, as there's very little reason to think that the 63 year-old still has another match left in his body. Especially after all the years he's spent away from the ring.
Regardless, it sounds like there's a pretty good chance we'll see the return of Hulk Hogan to the WWE in time for WrestleMania 33. How do you feel about this? And, assuming it happens, what do you think the nature of his involvement will be?
