X-Men Gifted: Casting Call May Reveal New Plot Details

We just learned a few days ago the names of a majority of the cast of the X-Men TV show Gifted, including some mutant personas; Polaris, Thunderbird, Blink, and an unknown mutant named Eclipse. Today a casting call was put out which could reveal some in depth information into the show itself, from MyCastingFile.com. While this website covers a number of roles for various projects, the ones related to “Untitled Marvel project” stand out quite well.

It calls for High school students at dance, Seedy types at bar, Native Americans at outpost, 4 a.m. diner patrons, Law office background, Hotel maid, 14-17 year old high school students, Barfly woman(5’6″ 115lbs), Actor Photo Double, and sentinel service techs.

What stands out most to me is “Native Americans at Outpost,” which as we reported Blair Redford will be playing Thunderbird, aka John Proudstar. He also has a brother, James Proudstar, who you may have seen in X-Men: Days of Future Past, as Warpath. However James took up the name of Thunderbird, before he became Warpath, to honor his brother’s death. Could this be where his brother Jon dies and the the second Thunderbird is created, or might we see both brothers in action?

We also see 14-17 year old high school students, which likely indicates that something may go terribly wrong at the high school, forcing the mutants to work together, to either keep in hiding or to go on the run. This could be where the attorneys come into play, as it has been reported that Reed and Catlin have mutant children of their own, and perhaps the become their protectors.

And, of course, let’s not forget the Sentinel techs. The Sentinels are giant robots that hunt down and destroy mutants, and we saw how well that worked out in X-Men: Apocalypse.

This will be the second show coming off the heels of Legion, and if you have not seen Legion yet, I highly recommend it if you like a Westworld-like mind-bender, where you have no idea what is real or not.

There is no release date at this time, but the show is directed by Matt Nix, who did great work in Burn Notice.

How well do you think this show will do? What other young mutants would you like to see? Maybe we can finally get some legitimate Jubilee action!
