Zack Snyder Directed This One Scene In SUICIDE SQUAD

While BATMAN v SUPERMAN may have had their fair share of DC characters running around, with the release of SUICIDE SQUAD, Warner Bros. has proven that they’re all-in in this self-proclaimed DC Extended Universe. Not only did did the film have a hefty handful-plus of baddies we got to rub elbows with, but they even had the likes of Batman and the Joker to tide fans over. However, if you hadn’t been keeping up on all the “cameo news,” you may not have realized that one other heavy hitter was set to show up in the film.

SPOILER ALERT for those who haven’t seen the film!

……

…..

….

..

.

Early on in the flick, we see Captain Boomerang finish up a bank robbery, take out his partner with his boomerang, and make to escape only to get taken down by Ezra Miller’s Flash.

It’s a short scene, but it goes a long way to make this world for more interconnected. While Batman is scattered around this entire flick, it was a breath of fresh air to see that he wasn’t the only hero fighting crime in this world.

If you’d been following our non-stop coverage of the flick, you’d have known already that this scene was pretty much discovered already thanks to the shot from above in the trailer. But what you may not have known is that BATMAN v SUPERMAN director Zack Snyder was the man behind the camera in that particular scene.

In an interview with Collider, director David Ayer stated that:

“Flash was always in the movie, we just got lucky because JUSTICE LEAGUE was happening and they had the uniform, they had the assets, so we were able to get that photography.”

Furthermore, Ayer stated that while the scene had always existed in the script, it was shot during post-production by Snyder as the latter director was shooting JUSTICE LEAGUE. Makes sense from a budget standpoint. No need to fly an actor away from a current production just to shoot a single shot, right?
