Bourne-Leg-top-cellDirector Justin Lin wanted to do something different from the “Fast & Furious” movies. And now he has his next project.

According to Deadline, Universal Pictures hired Lin to direct the sequel to Tony Gilroy’s “The Bourne Legacy.” That film follows Aaron Cross, another operative being hunted down. Actor Jeremy Renner is expected to reprise his role as Cross.

Lin was very successful at reviving the “Fast & Furious” franchise in the last three installments which grossed over $1 billion at the box office. Director James Wan (“Insidious”) has now taken over to direct the next “Fast & Furious” movie.

It is expected the next “Bourne” movie will be released sometime in 2015.
