20th Century Fox has a love-hate relationship with San Diego Comic-Con. Of course, as a studio that has the X-Men property at its disposal, it’s a great platform to share its upcoming big budget blockbusters. However, as one would expect, it’s not exactly easy to keep things under wraps. When you have a room full 6,500 fans, someone is bound to sneak a recording of a trailer, and more often than not, that recording is bound to make it online.

It’s because of this reason that 20th Century Fox opted to sit out San Diego Comic-Con’s legendary Hall H last year. The experience only bit them in the butts, and there didn’t seem to be much incentive for them to come back. As such, there really didn’t seem to be any expectation that they’d be coming back. Well, it looks like they must have some great stuff to show. According to the official SDCC website, Fox will be having a Hall H panel on July 20 at 11:30am.

As of right now, there are no details as to what they could be showing, but we could give a few guesses. Next year will see the release of three Marvel movies from them: The New Mutants, Deadpool 2, and X-Men: Dark Phoenix. While Dark Phoenix hasn’t started production just yet, The New Mutants is set to beginning this month, and Deadpool 2 has already started shooting. While there likely won’t be extensive footage for these movies, there’s a good chance we’ll be able to see something.

Of the two films, we’re especially intrigued to see what The New Mutants has to offer. Given that we only got Deadpool last year, we have a good idea of what to expect already. The New Mutants is interesting in that it was initially pitched as more of a YA tale, but more recently, director Josh Boone has stated that it will have more of a horror edge than any of the other Fox Marvel films to date. Needless to say, they have our attention. Let’s hope they’ll be able to keep it.
